Inspired by the preaching’s of his renowned and revered spiritual GURU SRI SRI AKHANDANAND JI MAHARAJ who preached that service to the poor, helpless and disabled is real prayer to GOD. To fulfil his Guru’s preaching Swami Ajaranand ji Maharaj who himself was blind, established “SWAMI AJARANAND ANDH VIDYALAYA HIGH SCHOOL” on 30th May 1968 at Sapt Sarover , near the bank of holy river GANGA in religious city HARIDWAR, The Gateway To God. It is being governed by “Ajardham Mahila Ashram Trust” Sapt Sarover, Post-Sadhubela, Haridwar, which was constituted and established by Swamiji Maharaj himself on 1st January 1963 with the sole aim to rehabilitate the old, oppressed and helpless poor women who were neglected by the society, without giving any consideration to caste or creed.
UNIQUENESS AND HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS INSTITUTE
(1) It is the only institute for blind students in Uttarakhand in private sector, providing education free of cost along with vocational training also.
(2) It is the only institute where blind students and sighted students are being treated equally and getting education under one roof. Most of the sighted students belongs to weaker, poor and downtrodden section of the society, who can not afford the expenses of their children’s education. It is unique experiment using integrated approach by providing education free of cost to eyed students and blind students jointly.
(3) It is the only institute which is is being governed by “Ajardham Mahila Ashram Trust” without receiving any government aid and still providing boarding, fooding, clothing and medical facilities along with books and other accessaries etc. required for studies to all blind students free of cost.
